Bing Webmaster Tools is where you manage Bing and Microsoft Search indexing. Bing is also the primary IndexNow endpoint<\/strong> \u2014 when you submit URLs via IndexNow from this extension, they go to Bing first, and Bing shares the data with other participating engines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 1: Verify Your Site<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  1. Go to Bing Webmaster Tools<\/a> and sign in with a Microsoft account<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Click Add a Site<\/strong> and enter your store URL<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Choose a verification method:\n

    • XML file<\/strong> \u2014 upload to your web root<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Meta tag<\/strong> \u2014 add to your theme header<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Auto-verify via Google Search Console<\/strong> \u2014 if GSC is already verified, Bing can import that verification automatically (easiest option)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Complete verification<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Step 2: Submit Your Sitemap<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      1. In Bing Webmaster Tools, select your site<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. Go to Sitemaps<\/strong> in the left navigation<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      3. Click Submit Sitemap<\/strong> and enter: https:\/\/yourstore.com\/sitemap_index.xml<\/code><\/li>\n\n\n\n
      4. Click Submit<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        Step 3: Verify IndexNow Is Working<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        When you configure IndexNow in this extension, the API key works directly with Bing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        1. In this extension’s admin, use the Validate Key<\/strong> button to confirm the key file is accessible<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        2. Trigger the cron once manually by visiting the cron URL in your browser<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        3. Check the IndexNow dashboard in the extension admin for success responses<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        4. Optionally, check Configure My Site \u2192 IndexNow<\/strong> in Bing Webmaster Tools to see submission history from Bing’s side<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
