SEO Suite Component

Meta Tags

Configure page titles and descriptions safely without relying on outdated Meta Keywords practices.

RecommendedComponent 2.0.8Difficulty: Easy

Control useful page titles and descriptions while preserving normal OpenCart metadata where you leave fields blank.

Why metadata matters

The page title is a strong description of what a page is about. The meta description can help describe the page in search results, although search engines may rewrite what they display. HuntBee lets you create sensible templates for special page types.

Settings

SettingWhat it meansRecommended for beginnersChange it when…
Home Meta Title / Description / KeywordsOptional metadata for the storefront home page. Blank values allow existing OpenCart metadata to remain in control. If your existing home metadata is already good, leave HuntBee home fields blank. Otherwise enter a clear brand + store purpose title and useful description. You intentionally want HuntBee to provide the home metadata.
Search Page TitleDefault: Search results for {search} | {store_name}.Keep the default unless you have a preferred natural wording.Your store tone or language needs a different pattern.
Search Page DescriptionDefault: Browse {total} results for {search} at {store_name}.Keep or simplify. Avoid stuffing search terms. You need different wording.
Tag Page TitleDefault: Products tagged {tag} | {store_name}.Keep if tag pages are useful on your store. You want a different readable pattern.
Tag Page DescriptionDefault describes the count and tag.Keep if tag pages are public/useful.You have a better customer-facing description.
Search/Tag Meta KeywordsLegacy keywords field.Leave blank. Do not spend SEO time here.Only a non-search legacy integration specifically needs it.
Pagination TitleDefault: {meta} - Page {page}.Keep. It helps distinguish paginated pages.Your language/style needs a different suffix.
Pagination DescriptionDefault: {meta} - Page {page}.Keep or make a natural page-number suffix.Your current descriptions become awkward.
Custom Route MetadataLets you provide title/description for a specific OpenCart route.Use only for meaningful public routes missing proper metadata.A custom/public page needs dedicated metadata.

Beginner example

For a store called “Example Camera Store”, a useful category title could be Mirrorless Cameras | Example Camera Store. Avoid titles like “Best Cheap Mirrorless Cameras Buy Camera Online Best Price…” because they are written for a robot, not a person.

How to check

  1. Open the public page.
  2. View the browser tab title.
  3. Use page source/dev tools to inspect the description meta tag.
  4. Check that there is one clear final title/description and the wording matches the page.
