Tracking Suite Getting Started
Set up HuntBee Tracking Suite safely with plain-English choices, debug logging and a practical test flow.
A safe setup path for merchants who want tracking to work without learning every analytics term first.
10-minute starting setup
Step 1 — Enable the store
Open Tracking Suite → Overview, select the store and set Tracking Status to Enabled. This is the master switch. Individual provider settings can remain saved while the master switch is off, but events will not be sent.
Step 2 — Choose consent before advertising
Open Consent & Privacy. For many stores, using the existing OpenCart banner or a compatible external consent platform is easier than building a new banner. HuntBee is a signal broker, not a legal compliance service.
Step 3 — Start with Google
Open GA4 & GTM. If you do not already have Google tracking installed, choose Let HuntBee install the Google tag — Recommended. If your theme or another extension already loads Google Tag Manager or the Google tag, choose the matching existing-tag mode to avoid duplicates.
Step 4 — Use Debug Logging while testing
Open Diagnostics → Settings and enable Browser Debug Logging. You will get helpful [HuntBee Tracking] console messages plus bounded Event Log rows in the admin. A yellow warning reminds you to turn debugging off when testing is finished.
Step 5 — Test in a real browser
- Category page → expect a product-list event.
- Click a product → expect product selection.
- Product page → expect product view.
- Add to cart → expect cart-add event.
- Cart → expect view/update/remove behavior.
- Checkout → expect checkout, shipping/payment and purchase events where supported.
Step 6 — Add only the advertising platforms you use
Meta, TikTok and Pinterest can use browser, server or combined delivery. Google Ads and Microsoft Ads are browser-oriented in the current Suite. Microsoft Clarity is session analytics rather than a conversion queue.
Step 7 — Configure the scheduler when needed
Browser events do not wait for cron. The scheduler is needed for queued server-side delivery and cleanup. If you use Meta CAPI, TikTok/Pinterest server events or GA4 server-side refunds, running the Tracking scheduler every minute is recommended.
